FINISHED OBJECTS

I finished a second Classic Ribbed Hat.

This version is for Betsy and so I made the small adult size (the first version was a medium adult, see the free pattern details here) using some gorgeous dk weight yarn from Indie Yarn Club called Confection on her plump dk base - I can confirm that it really is plump and lovely.

The neon yellow sprinkles have got to be my favourite thing about this yarn, in fact I’m a fan of the sprinkles ratios in total especially on the lovely pale peach base.

WIPS

I’ve finished one of my Sugar Icing Socks, the new lace sock pattern from from Sandra Paul (Cherry Heart).

I decided that the pattern was lovely enough all by itself without me needing to add in a contrast heel and toe. The yarn, which is Bottle Brush Christmas Trees from Dandelion & Dogwood refuses to be photographed in all its glory, it has the finest sheen of gold stellina running through it which makes the socks sort of glimmer. Perfection.

I’m also working on the Roll Neck Poncho from Sirdar in Haworth Tweed using the Yorkshire Stone colourway and I’ve now finished two full pattern repeat - it is gorgeous but I haven’t got quite as far as I originally thought!

I’ve reached the joining to work in the round stage of my Viajante, hurrah, although it continues to try and outwit me so I’m not holding my breath, ha!

I’m using Malabrigo Lace in the Cognac colourway.

I also managed to work a bit more on my new sock pattern, the Coins socks. I’m using Drops Nord in the Mustard colourway.

NEW & NOTABLE

I have started an Advent Blanket project using my advent calendar yarn from 2019 from @biffsugaryarn - finally, finally got around to doing something with all that lovely yarn.

The pattern uses simple, two round solid granny squares that are being joined as I go. I will be writing up the pattern that I’m using soon.

I bought a new and rather lovely bag from Rachel’s Etsy shop Rachel Made.

I received the January clubs from Woolly Mama Yarns and they are gorgeously bright and lovely, I get the Sweet Shop club and the Minis club.

I also found a set of super bright neon mini skeins from Snuggly Star Yarns on Etsy.

My yarn gift was from Amy @noblecharactercrafts (feel so loved) she chose Rave from Tracey at Somerset Yarns. I am also taking part in Amy’s Make Nine make-along for 2021 and if you want to take part you can find out more on Amy’s podcast and/or look at the #makenine2021mal hashtag on instagram.

Enjoy the podcast folks, and don’t forget to ignore the negativity pouring forth from the media and shine bright like a diamond.
