episode 157 | beige rage
EPISODE 157 SHOW NOTES
In this episode I’m mainly moaning about the colour beige.
It doesn’t help that I’m wearing my Whitehorse sweater, a pattern by Caitlin Hunter which I made in 2018 with some discontinued Rowan Cashsoft DK in the colour Dusty. I re-worked the sleeves last year because they were awful and I thought it would make me wear the jumper more but sadly it’s too big and too beige so I still hate it and am not even sure why I’m wearing it.
FINISHED
I finished my Halloween So Faded yahoo!
Well I’m not sure you can call it finished because it’s not blocked and the ends haven’t been sewn in but it will be ready to wear on Halloween and I really do like it.
I made the size 3 and used the recommended needles.
The yarns I used are:
First Colour - Unregistered Animagus by A Homespun House - a Harry Potter club colour that I won in Amy’s (@noblecharactercrafts) 2021 make nine makealong.
Second Colour - Aunt Marge & Ripper by Paper Stories - again Harry Potter themed!
Third Colour - Stan Shunpike by Paper Stories - it’s basically a Harry Potter jumper.
I really quite like it, it looks lovely on and I will be wearing it in next week’s episode for sure, probably with the matching socks!
ALMOST FINISHED
I’ve almost finished my Bonfire Socks. I’m also using a new Ollie & Bella Halloween project bag for them. The Bonfire Socks is a free pattern and I’m using the leftover Homespun House Harry Potter yarn from my So Faded top. I’m using it together with Violet from Opal as a contrast.
I made them concurrently on 2.25mm needles with shadow wrap heels.
WIPS
I’ve been working on my pumpkin patch this week but I will show them all finished up next week.
I also worked on a new stitch tutorial for the Checkerboard Stitch and you can find the tutorial here.

IN CLOSING
I bought a couple of yarn colours for reference and planning. The first one is Stylecraft Life DK in the Zing colourway as recommended by Catherine of the Catherine Crochets podcast. It’s such a lovely, bright colour and I want to make something with it right now!
I also bought a new Sirdar Snuggly DK colour called Treasure which really reminds me of my old favourite colour from them Butter Tubs.
Enjoy the episode folks and enjoy your knitting and crochet.
