episode 68 | hellish anne
In this coffee-fuelled episode I’m mainly talking about my falling out with Helianne, hereafter known as Hellish Anne (I’m incredibly amusing, yes, yes, I know), we will eventually make up, of this I am sure but in the meantime…
Episode 68 Show Notes
IN PROGRESS
Helianne Top by Phildar
I really thought that I would have the Helianne top by Phildar finished for this week’s episode, I whizzed ahead with it because I am enjoying making it SO much, only I’ve now hit a snag with the sleeves and am required to do some actual thinking and figuring shit out.
I am using all the recommended Phildar Coton 3 colours for this project, the pattern is in their summer crochet magazine no. 155. The pattern is one size only but it is a fairly large(ish) size given that I was able to take two hexagons away from the circumference and it still fits me quite loosely (I am a UK size 12).
Phildar are offering a 15% discount to all my podcast viewers as well as free delivery for UK orders over €49. The discount code is POTTER15 and is valid from now until the end of August 2019. Please note that this is only applicable to the phildar.fr website.
The giveaway is open to all and you can enter by leaving a comment, any comment, in French on the podcast video, the closing date is 3 July at midnight GMT and I will announce the winner in my next podcast (probably in two weeks). The giveaway is in no way associated with YouTube or Phildar but is instead just a way for me to spread some fun, crochet and thanks to you, my lovely viewers.
Duckies Socks by Samantha Hayes
I am using Rowan Felted Tweed in the colour Frozen for these socks called Duckies by Samatha Hayes. The free pattern is specifically for sport weight yarn (even though I’m using DK) and features a four row lace repeat over a 48 stitch count and I think they are stunning. I have a feeling that I will be making many more DK weight socks, they just feel so nice on your feet.
Betsy Jumper by Pat Menchini
I completely love this jumper, not least because it’s got the same name as my girl, but just look at it!! It features in Issue 187 of Knitting Magazine and is made using some lovely, gaudy (deliciously so) yarn by King Cole called Indulge Chunky in the Lavender colourway.
It’s been a really easy and happy make, I’m not sure why I put it away in a basket when it was almost finished - probably because I went right off knitting around January time and couldn’t be arsed with it anymore - it just requires a bit of shoulder shaping concentration and a polo neck and then I am done. Can’t wait to show you, might make another. Eek.
OTHER STUFF
The video tutorial for the Viaduct Stitch is now live and you can watch the tutorial here or find the written pattern in both UK and US terminology here.
The video for the Galapagos Square will be forthcoming, when I can figure it out, gah, for a square that looks SO simple, she is turning out to be a right bitch!!
