EPISODE 134 SHOW NOTES
We went away for a little Easter holiday and it was fabulous, I’m still a little bit holiday brained in this episode but I have some lovely new things to talk about.
NEW FOR HOLIDAY
I started a new pair of stripey socks and I love the colours SO much.
The yarn is Regia Pairfect Rainbow Stripes in the colour 1731 which is a bit hard to find in the UK, I have tried to find it but failed. I think I bought it quite some time ago from Etsy, or maybe Ebay, apologies for lack of knowledge on this one.
I also started an Easter shawl, chosen from my #makenine2022mal list, the Adrift shawl by Veera Valimaki.
It is a fabulously simple knit and I’m really enjoying it even though my yarn choice is a bit out of character. I am feeling quite chuffed that I’m using some of my oldest stash right now, purchased the two skeins of Peony (I think I bought three actually), in 2016!! Finally it gets to be made into something lovely eh?
NEW
I’ve finally started on a crochet version of the 24 Days Cowl, it took me a while to find a way to work the stitches in a way that was pleasing to look at and similar to the knitted version. I hope that I’ve achieved that and if I haven’t, well it’s still a beautiful project to work on.
I’m working it up to be a fairly narrow tube but will offer bigger sizes in the pattern so it can be made to personal preference.
I’m using my DK weight yarn advent from Indie Yarn Club together with Stylecraft Special DK in White and a 4mm hook.
(ALMOST) FINISHED
I’ve finished the embroidery element of Betsy’s new butterfly socks using the amazing Betsy’s Socks yarn set specially dyed for me (and Betsy) by Shannon of Blue Fern Yarns and I love them.
I’m almost finished with the second sock just have to work the pattern onto the socks and I’m working on a second pair in white using the Aloe Sockwool I used for one of my pairs of 24 Days Socks. I’m going to work this pair with a different heel and with multi-coloured butterflies so there will be two options in the pattern.
NEW
I got the new Scheepjes Yarn book, No.13, because I loved Lynne’s super North Sea Fish pattern, I want to make tons of them in loads of different colours, so pretty.
