isla lacy ripple blanket
This was my holiday project, yes I went to a hot Mediterranean island and took a woolly project with me. To be honest I wasn't overly into crocheting in the heat, and crocheting in a bikini is a definite no even though I tried, way too itchy!
I was after another pretty baby blanket and I fancied a lacy ripple but couldn't find one that I liked enough to make so I designed my own pattern instead and loved it.
I also love these shades of the gorgeous Drops Karisma yarn (so smooshy, so soft), I tried to pick colours that are reminiscent of the sun-bleached palette of Malta, I particular like the mustard, the soft pink and the pale, let the sun shine all day long, sea blue. Dreamy Mcfreaking dreamy huh?
The pattern is lovely and easy, just repeating two rows, one lacy and one not so lacy with matching solid edges, created by adding two trebles into the turning chain instead of the usual one, that are so pretty, you won't want or need to add anything else. It is a super easy, super lovely, super everything baby blanket of rippley loveliness.
