inspiration | crochet bags
I’m currently designing a crochet bag, it’s got frills on it and I rather like them.
Because I haven’t designed a bag in the longest time I thought I’d take a look at what’s out there on the high street and I wasn’t disappointed, especially the Lotus Clutch by & Other Stories (above) which is just the most epic piece of crochet design engineering I’ve ever seen. I would never have thought to work a chevron stitch in this way. Genius!
I thought Zara would have a lot more, they usually go in hard with the crochet for spring/summer but this was their only bag offering and I have to say that I love the shell stitch and the colours they’ve used.
This little pink number is from Ulla Johnson and whilst I love the puff stitches and the round handles I’m not sure I would pay almost £300 for it!
No, that’s a lie, I am sure, but it’s still cute as hell.
I also love anything in raffia, I’m definitely buying a raffia bag this summer, even though mine never seem to last very long. This from Hat Attack is super cute with the mini pompoms, likewise the same clutch style but with a different crochet stitch and raffia tassels is pretty from Mar Y Sol. Raffia tassels!!!
Another high street shop that is always good for raffia or crochet bags is Mango and I'm a bit partial to this open shopper, I might even have a go at making my own, although I’m not sure how practical it would be given the amount of stuff I carry around with me at any given time.
