episode 72 | we're gonna need a bigger boat
I had to film this podcast over two days as half the files from my first day’s filming got corrupted when they were importing! How does that even happen iMovie? Anyhoo, I didn’t mind because it gave me the chance to show off my favourite t-shirt featuring the best film ever made - I am a huge fan of the film Jaws and could watch it over and over (and over) again if I had the time.
EPISODE 72 SHOW NOTES
FINISHED
True Love Cardigan
Let’s not beat around the bush here, I completely messed up my True Love Cardigan by @woolandthegang and the blame lies firmly with me and whoever it was who decided the UK and the US should have different crochet terminology!
Love Island Socks
These are finished, rather lovely and you can find the free pattern here. I used the Love Island Mini Set from Alison @biffsugaryarns to make them but any mini skein set will do as will any sock yarn.
ALMOST FINISHED
Nobody’s Perfect Shawl and CAL
You can find the free pattern here and join in the CAL by grabbing your scraps and using the #nobodysperfectCAL hashtag on instagram. I will only be running the CAL on instagram for simplicity’s sake and will choose a couple of winners at the end of September.
HALF FINISHED
My new sock design is half finished - well I usually write up the pattern after I’ve made one sock and then use the pattern to make the second sock as a sort of test knit - so you can expect that new pattern to be out soon. I am using Drops Nord to make these socks and they are working up lovely and thick.
NEW AND NOTABLE
I have lovely new colours of the Rowan Felted Tweed. After using it to make my duckies socks I want to make more DK weight socks (perfect for winter), and am excited about using these two new colours; Seafarer and Barn Red.
I also have a lovely new hook and yarn from Katy at Harbour Crochet and you can find out about Katy’s new Northeasterly crochet design here.
Clarisabeth is running her Harry Potter themed #mischiefmanagedmal make along, go and check out her blog for more details.
The History of Bees by Maya Lunde is the book behind Christina Hadderingh’s new crochet along which I talk more about here, and it is amazing - the book and the shawl.
The English version of The Sewing Box Magazine Issue 8 is out now and you can find it for sale (digital only) here. You will find my Ruffalo Shawl pattern in the magazine plus loads of other great designs.
Enjoy the podcast folks and I will see you soon.
