episode 70 | perfectly imperfect
In this summer episode I’ve finished two pairs of socks and started a lovely new summer holiday project as well as announcing a ghastly free pattern and CAL for the holidays.
EPISODE 70 SHOW NOTES
FINISHED
Stripey Socks
These beast are finally done after much faffing about and I am glad. The yarn is called Heart & Sole by Sirdar in the colour Hello Cheeky - I think this yarn may be long discontinued as I can’t find it for sale in many places here in the UK.
True Friends Ankle Socks
I decided to make me and Betsy matching socks this summer (I know, very twee) and I’ve already finished Betsy’s - although to be honest it doesn’t take long to make dinky doodle socks like these.
I’m using the True Friends Ankle Socks pattern from Sam @betsymakes and the Castaway sock set from Alison @biffsugaryarns.
NEW
Wool & The Gang have launched their new eco-friendly hemp yarn, Buddy Hemp and they sent me the True Love Cardigan crochet kit to try out in the colour Bardot Red. I started the speedy doo project whilst away at the seaside and have now finished both sleeves. Currently loving the rustic feel of the hemp yarn, it might be a new thing you know.
IN PROGRESS
Junon Top by Phildar
I’ve started making this pretty summer top for Betsy. It features in the Phildar summer crochet magazine no. 173 (my favourite) and is made using their Mixte yarn in the Linen colour.
Phildar are offering a 15% discount to all my podcast viewers as well as free delivery for UK orders over €49. The discount code is POTTER15 and is valid from now until the end of August 2019. Please note that this is only applicable to the phildar.fr website.
Nobody’s Perfect Shawl and CAL
You can find the free pattern here and join in the CAL by using the #nobodysperfectCAL hashtag on instagram. I will only be running the CAL on instagram for simplicity’s sake and in September, probably at the end of the month, I will pick some winners and send out some lovely yarny prizes.
NEW STUFF
I’m currently loving the summer crochet collection from @bergere_de_france (the front cover is so WOW), and I bought some lovely peachy DK weight yarn called Prunus that I might do something snazzy with as we move excitedly into Autumn. I also bought the Love Island Mini Set again from Alison at @biffsugaryarns because I thought it was great summertime telly and I hugely miss it now it’s over (sad face). Thank you Alison for carrying on the neon dreams.
Enjoy the podcast and the rest of your summer holidays and I will see you soon.
