Episode 67 Show Notes
FINISHED
Lemvig Shawl by Marianne Dekkers-Roos
I’ve finished my Lemvig Shawl by @marretjeroos - I absolutely loved making it and it’s a brilliant two skein shawl for using some of your lovely hand dyed yarn. I used Hedgehog Fibres sock yarn in the Teacup colourway and Drops Nord in the Light Beige Mix colourway.
NEW
I wanted to use the lovely Rowan Felted Tweed for a project and found this amazing free sock pattern called Duckies by Samatha Hayes on Ravelry. It uses DK weight yarn (or maybe sport weight) and has only a 48 stitch count, which is weird but they fit, I made sure they did before I carried on making them (ha!). The pattern is a simple four row lace repeat and they are stunning.
IN PROGRESS
Helianne Top by Phildar
I have made SO much progress with the Helianne top by Phildar. I am using Phildar Coton 3 for this project, the pattern is in their magazine no. 155. I have only just realised that it is only available in one size and I have no idea if that size is even going to fit me! Yikes!
Stripey Socks
I’ve finally finished one of this bloody socks (they are SO cursed), I’m hurrying along with the second one but I think if you’ve watched the podcast already that you can tell I’m just not that into them :) The yarn however is awesome and is Sirdar Heart & Sole in Hello Cheeky.
OTHER STUFF
I have purchased a new sock pattern from Sam @betsymakes called the True Friends Ankle Sock - I love them and plan on making both myself and Betsy a pair using the Castaway sock set from Alison at Biffsugar Yarns.
The Sewing Box Magazine offer details are here. As well as the 60% off the magazines you also get access to exclusive discounts from different designers including me :)
I’ve just finished the amazing Circe by Madeline Miller and I’ve now moved on to Henry’s next wife, Anne of Cleves it’s already super exciting and I’m enjoying it hugely.
If you haven’t done so already, you can watch the podcast here.
