Episode 66 Show Notes
FINISHED
Million Reasons Bag by Wool & The Gang
Wool & The Gang asked me if I’d like to try out their new raffia yarn and I said yes. I made their Million Reasons Bag in the colour Cinnamon Dust and I think it’s pretty awesome - it’s already being used as a project bag so that is definitely good stuff.
IN PROGRESS
Lemvig Shawl by Marianne Dekkers-Roos
I’m almost done with my Lemvig Shawl by @marretjeroos - I’m at the fabulous lace section which I was so looking forward to and it’s currently living up to my expectations. I’m using Hedgehog Fibres sock yarn in the Teacup colourway and Drops Nord in the Light Beige Mix colourway. The Hedgehog Fibres yarn is a bit splitty for my liking but I think you tend to notice splitty yarn more when you’re crocheting than knitting.
Helianne Top by Phildar
I have just started the Helianne top by Phildar. I am using Phildar Coton 3 for this project which is available in their magazine no. 155. I have always wanted to make a motif top, I think I was waiting to see one that I would actually wear and this is most definitely it.
Stripey Socks
These old gals have been on the needles since October 2018 and have been knitted and ripped back three times already. I always seem to have a bit of a problem with stripey socks, I can never seem to get the right heel in place first time. Ha. The yarn is Sirdar Heart & Sole in Hello Cheeky.
OTHER STUFF
I have written a post with some of my May favourites, you can find that here.
I bought the amazing Crochet Every Way Stitch Dictionary by Dora Ohrenstein and I really do feel that this will become a bit of a bible for all crochet designers. She so wonderfully shows you how to increase and decrease in pattern for hundreds of different stitch patterns. Well worth a look, you can buy it here.
I’ve just finished the amazing Where The Forest Meets The Stars (read it, you will love it) and am currently reading Circe, although I’m doing that in a hurry because I want to get on to Henry’s next wife, Anne of Cleves because the next book by Alison Weir is out now - can’t wait to start this one, she calls her Anna of Kleve, Queen of Secrets….ooooh.
Finally, watch Chernobyl if you get the chance, it’s really great television but terribly, gut-wrenchingly sad and incredibly frustrating at the same time.
If you haven’t done so already, you can watch the podcast here.
