EPISODE 128 SHOW NOTES
I wish it was still last week when I was giddy about completing my Felix and knitting felt happy and warm.
Alas, this week was knitting disaster week as I finished my Smora hat, a pattern by Gudrun Johnston, and it is ridiculous. There I said it.
Bloody ridiculous.
I used the recommended yarn which is Jamieson & Smith and it’s itchy so I probably wouldn’t have ever worn the hat anyway but I’m certainly not going to wear it now it makes me look like the pope.
No I didn’t swatch, no I don’t care (maybe a little bit) and no I will not make a colourwork hat ever again. Haha.
This is my second completed project from my #makenine2022mal list.
HALF FINISHED
I finished one of the matchy socks I’m making with the leftover Studiomeez sock yarn I used to make Darren’s Christmas socks this year. I thought I would have enough yarn for a pair for me but I didn’t and Betsy seemed quite keen (not that she has much choice) and so they are now going to be Betsy socks.
WIPS
I’m loving working on Stepping Stones socks, they are just so perfect and my first pair of DK weight socks. They are also on my #makenine2022mal list and the pattern is from Clara Parkes’ Knitters Book of Socks.
I have just worked the heel with the two strands of yarn (as recommended by Kiko who’s podcast you can find here) and it worked up lovely, might be my new favourite heel flap (I know)!!
If you want to be kept up to date about my product launches and discount codes, they are sent via my newsletter so subscribe and be the first to know about pattern launches etc, you can do so by filling in the form below, I’m not the most prolific of newsletter writers so you’ll never be inundated and you can of course unsubscribe at any time.
AND FINALLY…
I had a voucher to spend at Hedgerow Yarns courtesy of my friend Florence and I bought a sweater’s quantity of DK weight yarn called Maple to use for my Nutkin later on this year.
Enjoy the podcast folks and remember, don’t believe anything you see on the news!
Happy knitting.
