episode 117 | I'm a barbie girl

EPISODE 117 SHOW NOTES

Firstly thank you SO much for all the love you showed my new 24 Days Socks pattern, I’m glad that you like them as much as I do and I’m pleased to say that you can buy the pattern now on either Ravelry or Etsy, depending on your personal preference, for £2.

In this episode I’m wearing my No Frills jumper designed by PetiteKnit which I knit last year using Malabrigo Sock in the Pearl colourway held together with Rowan Kidsilk Haze in the Pearl colourway.

WIPS

I’m pleased to say that I’ve started a second pair of 24 Days Socks, this time I’m just using two colours; a vibrant Petrol Blue from Opal, Petrol (5187) from Opal Uni 4ply paired with a pastel pretty that almost micro-stripes all by itself from Woolly Mama Yarns. It’s called Candy Floss and it was one of the Sweet Tooth Yarn Club colourways this year. I’m currently keeping these socks in my Christmas skater bag from Jibbyroo Sews.

I’ve finished a few of the Barbie items I’m making for Betsy’s Christmas.

The patterns I’m using have been brilliantly designed by Linmary Knits and I’m slightly obsessed.

I’m using small scraps of sock yarn together with a 3mm and 3.5mm crochet hook. This project is being kept in my fortune telling project bag gifted to me from Clarisabeth @crochetcakes.

I’ve also been working on my Sweater No.9 which had been in the naughty corner because my tension was all over the place on the sleeves. I managed to fix the issue and have now just got the remainder of the body and the second sleeve to finish so that I can wear this jumper for Christmas. Hurrah.

I’m using Cascade 220 Heathers in the Pumpkin Spice colourway held together with Knitting for Olive Soft Silk Mohair in the Rust colourway.

NEW

I shopped the Christmas bag drop from Jibbyroo Sews and bought a couple of lovely bags and some pretty stitch markers too. I’m keeping one of the bags in its wrapping to include in the next giveaway that I run which will be to celebrate 20,000 subscribers on my channel - can’t believe it, so happy!

I also finally got hold of a new ball of Sirdar Jewelspun, this one in the Daybreak Delta (695) colourway which I’m going to use to make more Rib & Gather hats.

I also bought a copy of The Shetland Trader, the beautifully retro new book from Gudrun Johnston.

Finally, all my product launches and discount codes are sent via my newsletter so if you want to subscribe and be the first to know about pattern launches etc, you can do so by filling in the form below, I’m not the most prolific of newsletter writers so you’ll never be inundated and you can of course unsubscribe at any time.

Enjoy the podcast folks and remember to switch off that negative energy box, aka the telly, and enjoy knitting instead.
