EPISODE 114 SHOW NOTES

Congratulations to lovely Raquel

Thank you to everyone who took part in the giveaway from Episode 113 what a wonderful bunch of people you are and so happy to know you love October as much as I do.

The giveaway was for a pretty pumpkin project bag (just the loveliest fabric ever) and a ball of the new Zandra Rhodes yarn from WYS in the Forest Stripes colourway.

The winner was picked this morning at 8am using the random comment generator and is Raquel Atrinka.

ps. the random comment picker was epic good fun and did this cool scrolling through all the comments thing before picking the winning comment, loved it.

FINISHED OBJECT + NEW PATTERN

rib & gather hat

I finished my second ribbed hat using the lovely Jewelspun from Sirdar in the Sandstone Sunset colourway. I love the fact that both hats look so different and I’m thinking of putting a bobble on one (possibly the first one) but not the second.

I’m so happy that you can make two ribbed hats (that look completely different) plus two giant pompoms from the one 200g ball of Jewelspun. SO much fun.

I’ve called this pattern the rib & gather hat and it will be launched this week, I was originally going to launch it today but I ran out of time and so will be delayed until probably Wednesday.

The acorn I’m making with the tiny bit of leftover Jewelspun is my favourite acorn pattern from Jennifer Olivarez in Interweave Crochet Fall 2020.

clue 3 - brioche and criss-cross stitches - Westknits MKAL2021

THE GREAT BRITISH SHAWLOGRAPHY

I finished clue 3 of the 2021 Westknits mystery knitalong (MKAL2021) and I’m still enjoying the excitement of it and learning how to do new stitches, I am now officially in love with brioche!

The Great British indie dyed yarn I’m using for this project are:

Raven Red from Beehive Yarns

Carmen from Zakami

Like Gold Mustard from Dusty Dimples

Peach Melba from Birdstreet UK

Blossom Honey from Black Elephant

The bag that I’m storing this project in is the Plystre Project Backpack which I purchased here.
