Status: too small for Betsy but I’ve kept them anyway

My first attempt at sock freestyling!

I made a plain stockinette sock and used the Fish Lips Kiss Heel for the first time. At this time her feet were a child’s size 9.

Betsy loved them but she grew out of them so quickly but I keep them in my keepsake box because they are so dinky and cute.

Notes from ravelry

I made the pattern up for these myself.

I cast on 48 stitches and knit 2x2 rib for about an inch. I then worked in plain stockinette and kept trying them on Betsy to work out the right length (four year olds have short little legs so this was relatively speedy).

I worked the [Fish Lips Kiss Heel](/patterns/library/fish-lips-kiss-heel) for the first time and it worked a dream with this lovely self-striping yarn from West Yorkshire Spinners.

I then worked in plain stockinette again and kept trying them on Betsy so I could work out when to start the toe decreases.

For the first few rounds I did a decrease round followed by a straight knit round and when I got to 16 stitches I decreased on every round finishing at 6 stitches.

Kitchener stitched toes.

Betsy loves them.
