A second, larger, version of my Adelaster Shawl pattern.
This version uses 2 x 100g of fingering weight/4ply yarn (Cascade Heritage) plus approx. 20g of contrast yarn (Black Elephant) in the same weight.
The Cascade Heritage is super stretchy and makes this shawl extra large, extra soft and extra lovely too!
The first version of this design was hooked up in 2016 and I’m not sure why I didn’t write up the pattern then and there but the pattern and photos of the mini sample sat in my phone notes waiting patiently for me to notice them again.
The other thing I liked about that version was the yarn I used, Blacker Yarns Tamar Lustre Blend 4ply in the colour Tiddy Brook. I had two skeins of that yarn from different dye lots and the difference in colour was astonishing; one a bright, lurid chartreuse and the other a fairly bland light green. So when it came to making up the design sample I went with these colours as the first option, you can find that project here.
You can buy the Adelaster Shawl pattern here.
