how to make a pretty funky flower necklace
I made these cool 3D flowers for a tutorial and didn't think I would be doing much else with them but then I made two and it was like...hmmmm these are good, these are really good and so I made a third and I had a TA-DAH moment and it became my pretty funky flower necklace. Sometimes things just happen like that.
For these flowers I'm using two colours of the aran weight Cascade Anthem; Tangerine and Peach and an unidentified baby blue colour (I threw the ball band away, story of my life), don't they look great together?
Flower Pattern
With blue ch4 and join with a ss to form a loop.
Round 1. ch5, 1tr, ch3 five times, join to the 2nd of the beginning ch5. Break off blue.
Round 2. join peach into any space, ch1 (counts as 1dc), 1htr, 4tr, 1htr, 1dc in that space, ss into top of treble from last round. *(1dc, 1htr, 4tr, 1htr, 1dc), ss into top of tr; repeat from * all the way round and join with a ss to beginning ch1. Break off peach.
Round 3. (working on the back of your petals from round 2) join orange into the back legs of the middle two trebles from the previous round and *ch4, ss into the legs of the middle two trebles from the previous round; repeat from * all the way round.
Round 4. (1dc, 1htr, 6tr, 1htr, 1dc) into each ch4 space around finishing with a ss to the beginning dc. Break off orange.
Sew in all ends.
To make the necklace, I sewed the flowers together, one petal to another and then I got a strand of each colour, joined this to one flower, chained until I got the length I wanted (which wasn't very long at all), and then joined to the opposite flower.
Happy crocheting YO!
