Started: 22 August 2017
Finished: 26 August 2017
Design: Riveret by Merrian Holland
Yarn: Wendy Supreme Luxury Cotton Silk DK in 1503 Yellow
Hook: 4mm
Status: in wardrobe and wearing often
This was a pattern from Pom Pom magazine and it was so lovely that I had to hook it immediately.
The construction is really interesting and I definitely think all crocheters should try this design at least once.
I used a good value Wendy yarn that has washed and worn really well.
Notes from ravelry….
I've been wanting to make one of these for ages and I saw that the Riveret designer had used this yarn for her prototype and I loved the colour. Hurrah.
I'm loving the unusual construction and this bargain Wendy yarn is superb!
I finished this SO quickly, can't quite believe it.
Loved the pattern, I made the size 3, my gauge was slightly out (big) but I didn't mind as I figured the top would look good with a bit of positive ease. I used 4 balls of the Wendy Supreme Cotton Silk DK and loved the yarn, it was a real surprise.
I had to re-do the front join a few times because it puckered the fabric up - the pattern does mention this and tells you to slip stitch loosely but I didn't realise quite how loosely - fast forward to the third attempt and my slip stitches are so baggy they are becoming their own design feature! :)
Also there is errata for the front join and I found it to be wrong! A bit puzzling. So the original pattern instructions in pom pom magazine are correct.
I found [MaDashper](/people/MaDashper) to have the best pattern notes for this top, they are really useful and well worth a read.
I made this for the #backtoschoolsweatercal 2017 but just realised that it doesn't even start until mid-September!!! Whoops! Might have to make something else then.

Also to note that the only thing that slightly confused me was the back panels have added rows on the shoulders and I couldn't figure out if I should do that on the front panels too - it doesn't say you should but then again it doesn't say you shouldn't either!
You don't add rows for the front panels. It will slightly freak you out when you come to sew them together but it all works out just peachy in the end, I promise.
