I think I was a bit over-confident with these socks given they were only my fourth pair ever made!
I had just received the Knitters Book of Socks and these were my favourite pair so I started them without really thinking it through, lace and cables!!
They are toe up socks and so they don’t fit me so well but they’ve lasted ages and I still wear them six years later.
Notes from ravelry.
Named after the Eleanor of Aquitaine book I was reading when I started these socks and can't quite believe how long it took me to make them. But I did it. Phew. And am so glad I did as they are gorgeous. Well worth the effort.
The pattern is super easy and really well written, I wish I had read it properly though and done the Elizabeth Zimmerman's Sewn Bind Off because for some strange reason I did the Jeny's Suprisingly Stretchy Bind Off instead and I find it to be a flarey at the top.
I worked 9 pattern repeats on the foot (I would do 8 next time as they are slightly too big) and 8 pattern repeats on the leg with 15 rounds of ribbing for the cuff.
