episode 43 | midsummer

Phew.....what a scorcher! We're in the middle of a midsummer heatwave and I'm loving it so much. The only trouble is my lack of interest in all things yarn related once the temperature goes above 30c, I just want to sit in the shade sipping Pimms. Luckily the Aster top that I'm working on is quite cool, light and airy so that project is going quite well.

I'm making the Aster Top from Marie Wallin using Drops Baby Alpaca Silk in white. I want to make everything in her book Filigree Collection Three.

I got the rest of my Drops Baby Alpaca Silk from a shop called Cotton Pod who also sent me the lovely Drops summer catalogue.  I'm not sure where or how else you can get hold of the actual magazine but all the patterns are available online here and I think Cotton Pod are dedicated Drops suppliers.

I will be writing up the pattern for the vintage squares soon.

The lovely Breathe magazine can be purchased in most UK supermarkets or newsagents (I got mine in Waitrose), you can also find them here.
